Uncle Ronnie

I miss Uncle Ronnie. Visited the gravesite recently. He was so good to me. I loved to hear him play the piano...playing by ear is an amazing talent. Somewhere over the rainbow was my favorite. I loved to go fishing with him, he was so patient with us. Maybe because he was always so childlike. I remember the night he called on his "unauthorized visit". I told him "We thought you were dead." He quickly replied, "I guess you are talking to a ghost." When I was about 6 or 7 he came to visit. I really wanted a pixie hair cut (though I look at the pictures now and wonder what I was thinking.) My mom told me she didn't want me to get my hair cut that short and she didn't want to pay for that. So what did Uncle Ronnie do? My birthday was close and when it came, I got a letter in the mail from Uncle Ronnie with if memory serves me right $9. It was just enough for a hair cut and mom took me down to get it. I always smiled when I thought of him and that silly hair cut and how much he loved me to send me that. I felt like such a big girl. Though his biscuits were to die for...that is the memory that stands out for me.
